The main player in the creation and development of CIESSE PAPER was Leonello Govi who, in 1947 founded a company to sell packaging paper. On Leonello’s death in 1968 his sons Mauro and Fabrizio, who had worked closely with him beforehand, took over the business.

This generational leap set up the fundamentals for what CIESSE PAPER would become in the future. In fact it was in precisely these years that the company started to specialize in the production of food packaging, a market in which the far-sighted owners decided to concentrate and which enjoyed extraordinary expansion in those years. The new frontier was the large-scale distribution chains, a challenge which simply could not be overlooked and which found CIESSE PAPER once again amongst the leading competitors.

In 2000, to respect the philosophy of keeping the business in the family, Fabrizio’s children joined the company: Elisa, graduated in Parma in Business Economics in the finance department, and Lorenzo, in the sales department to work alongside his father, responsible for technical and commercial management.

The arrival of the third generation created a sort of virtuous competition amongst the family members, each of whom brought innovative sales, marketing and management strategies, all to the good of the company. Nowadays the business is highly developed and offers its clients a service ranging from technical and graphics design, to the production and sale of neutral and printed packaging for the fruit and vegetable sector.

The aim is to reach as large a share of the market as possible by constantly amplifying the range and qualitative and innovative profile of products to satisfy client requirements. In this respect, CIESSE PAPERhas developed a clever container-tub for individual fruit and vegetable products to be sold directly to the public.

The project’s success is seen in the prestigious brand-names who have chosen to use it, amongst which Despar, Bio Esselunga, Alma Verde, Pink Lady, SMA, Auchan and many others. In addition, new markets are sought, especially abroad, by means of the more important trade fairs which are both national (Cesena and Bolzano) and foreign (Germany, Spain and France).

Nowadays the foreign market accounts for some 35% of turnover.

In 2005 the company obtained ISO 9001 TUV quality certification.
